Oshawa residents can get recognized for helping keep the community clean

Oshawa residents are encouraged to do their part to clean up the city during the upcoming Community Clean-up Week.
From April 23 to 29, the City is encouraging groups of all sizes to volunteer their time to help clean up Oshawa’s parks, green spaces, trails, and schoolyards.
Not only will registered participants be given free garbage bags and gloves to use (while supplies last), they’ll also receive a certificate of appreciation for their contribution to the community.
Residents can register, learn more, or find a group to clean with by visiting the City’s website.
As part of Community Clean-up Week, the Communities with Brooms event will return for a downtown spring cleaning on Thursday, April 27, beginning at 11:30 a.m. A barbecue for volunteers will take place after the event.
Oshawa mayor Dan Carter says he’s looking forward to joining the community during the upcoming clean-up events.

“Together, we can all contribute to making our green spaces, parks, neighbourhoods and downtown inviting spaces for everyone to enjoy,” said the mayor.
