The much anticipated grand opening of the Oshawa Markets on Simcoe Street South has been delayed for a second time as the management team scrambles to get enough vendors to fill the 90,000 square-foot space.

The re-scheduled opening day is now Saturday, October 23 and owner Erik Tamm hopes to have 300-plus vendors and 24-plus food court vendors in the former Zellers store (in what was once called the Zellers Plaza) near Simcoe Street and Highway 401.

The market operated in Pickering as the very popular Pickering Markets from 1973 to late 2020 when COVID restrictions forced its closure.
