The LOTTO MAX odds shone in favour of Fredrick Hines, with the Oshawa resident holding a winning ticket for a MAXMILLIONS prize worth $1 million from the June 15 LOTTO MAX draw.

Hines, a retiree as of last week, says he plays the lottery weekly. “I won this on a $2 ticket,” he shared, while at the OLG Prize Centre to pick up his prize.

The father and grandfather said he laughed in disbelief when he discovered his big win. “I called my wife and asked if she was sitting down because we just won $1 million! She was so happy!”

“This win feels so good. It makes retirement easier and more relaxing,” the 68-year-old added. “It changes the comfort level for sure!”

He plans to purchase a house, save some and enjoy the rest of his winnings.

The winning ticket was purchased at Flying J on Pettit Road in Fort Erie.
