A man wanted for shooting at – and missing – another man after an altercation west of downtown Oshawa last December has turned himself in to police.

Antjuan Lewis, 19, is charged with 17 offences, including discharge firearm with intent to wound/endanger life, possess weapon for committing offence, pointing a firearm and assault. He was held for a bail hearing.

Police were called to the area of Nassau Street and King St. W on the evening of Saturday, December 10 for a report of an armed person. Police say Lewis, an Oshawa resident, became “physical” with another man and then shot at him, missing, before fleeing southbound on Nassau Street. No physical injuries were reported.

Officers on scene located a shell casing.

Police appealed to anyone with home security or dashcam footage along Nassau Street, to come forward in December. Anyone with new information about this investigation is asked to contact D/Cst. Trafford of the Central East Division Criminal Investigations Bureau at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 2739.
