Oshawa man popped after downtown patrol officers spot him conducting drug deal

An Oshawa man is in custody after failing to notice police watching him while he was (allegedly) conducting a drug deal.

Central East Community Response Team officers were in downtown Oshawa conducting patrols Tuesday when they spotted the suspect involved in what they believed to be a drug transaction with another individual. The suspect was arrested and police seized a quantity of fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine with an approximate street value of $7,700.

Michael Samuels, 48, is facing numerous charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine.

He was held for a bail hearing.
