Oshawa man found with loaded gun at traffic stop

A 23-year-old Oshawa man faces numerous charges after police seized a loaded gun during a traffic stop Friday afternoon.

On Friday, May 27, a member of Central East Division conducted a traffic stop in the area of Ritson Road and Toronto Avenue. Investigation revealed the occupant of a white BMW was driving while under suspension and he was removed from the vehicle. The officer continued the investigation and located the firearm.

Andrew Thorne faces several firearm and other related charges which include Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited Firearm; Occupy Motor Vehicle with Firearm and Possess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm no Licence or Registration Certificate.

He was held for a bail hearing.
