Oshawa man arrested in Toronto drug investigation after guns and fentanyl seized in raid

An Oshawa man was arrested in Toronto in a drug and gun investigation after police say they discovered numerous gun and fentanyl after executing a search warrant.

Investigators with the Toronto Police Guns and Gangs unit launched a drug and gun trafficking investigation early this year. They identified a suspect and were granted search warrants for two homes and a car associated with him.

Police executed the warrants on March 8 and say they seized;

  • a Glock 45 9mm semi-automatic handgun,
  • a Springfield Armory Hellcat 9mm semi-automatic handgun,
  • a Glock 29 10mm semi-automatic handgun,
  • various calibers of ammunition,
  • a kilogram of cocaine,
  • 119.03 grams Fentanyl,
  • a weapon holster,
  • two bullet proof vests,
  • six over-capacity magazines, and
  • two police scanners

Bryan Taylor, 36 of Oshawa faces more than 30 charges including;

  • three counts of possession of a loaded regulated firearm,
  • three counts of possession of a firearm without a licence,
  • three counts of possession of a firearm other knowingly without a licence,
  • three counts of careless firearm storage,
  • 11 counts of possession of a weapon or device knowingly without authority,
  • three counts of possession of a firearm obtained by crime,
  • three counts of possession of firearm while prohibited,
  • two counts of drug possession for trafficking, and
  • possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000

Taylor will appear in a Toronto courtroom on March 17.
