Oshawa looking for public feedback on fourth phase of King Street streetscaping

Oshawa residents are invited to share their feedback on Phase 4 of the King Street Streetscape Project.
The fourth phase of the pilot project that began in 2018 will focus on the widening of the sidewalk on the north side of King Street West between McMillan Drive and Centre Street. The widening will allow for additional space for pedestrians, landscaping, outdoor patios/cafes, streetscape amenities and businesses.
During the initial phase the City sought feedback regarding three design options for the widening of the sidewalk on the north side of King Street East between Ontario Street and Mary Street North. The second phase was the strip of King Street East between Simcoe Street and Ontario Street (constructed in 2020). Phase three looked at design options on the street between Prince Street and Simcoe Street between Prince Street and Simcoe Street. That work was completed last year.
Residents and business owners are invited to review the fourth phase proposed design, share feedback and ask questions. If you prefer to complete the feedback form on paper, you can call Service Oshawa at (905) 436-3311 during regular business hours.
Feedback will be received until noon on Wednesday, February 9 and considered in the development of the final design.
The Streetscape Design Vision guides the development of public areas downtown and includes specifications for benches, trash receptacles, greenery and more while also investigating opportunities like sidewalk widening.
