The Oshawa Generals get another chance to clinch a playoff spot tonight in Mississauga against the Steelheads, though they would need some help from the team chasing them for that spot, the Kingston Frontenacs, to make that happen.

Oshawa had an opportunity book their ticket to the post-season Wednesday but fell flat against the Frontenacs, losing 6-2. Kingston is home to Barrie tonight and a regulation loss and an Oshawa win will end their season.

Any other scenario will set up a final matchup between Oshawa and Kingston Sunday at the Tribute Communities Centre.

(The possibility of a tie exists and if occurs the play-in game will be Tuesday in Oshawa.)

Less than a week ago, the Generals upset Mississauga 6-3 on home ice and the club is hoping for a repeat of that effort tonight at the Paramount and far different than the performance of the club Wednesday in Kingston.

Rookies Ben Danford and Beckett Sennecke scored both Oshawa goals Wednesday but if the club is going to win tonight they will need their big stars, such as of Dylan Roobroeck, goal-scoring leader Stuart Rolofs (32) and points leader Ryan Gagnier (67) to come up big.

The Generals will likely be without NHL draft-eligible star Calum Ritchie, who has missed eight straight games with an upper body injury.

Game time is 7 p.m.
