A bit of air got let out of the Oshawa Generals’ playoff balloon Thursday night as the Ottawa 67s broke open the game and possibly the series with a six-spot in the second period enroute to a 9-0 thumping and a commanding 3-1 lead in first round playoff action.

This is the second blowout loss in the series for the Generals after the 67s won 7-0 in the opener. Oshawa locked it down in the next two games, losing 3-2 and winning a crucial game four, 5-4 in overtime, only to fall flat in game four and now face a very steep hill to climb against the best team in the league.

Former Hamilton Bulldog Logan Morrison bagged three for the winners, with Luca Pinelli (2g2a) and Jack Beck (1g3a) also enjoying four point nights. Will Gerrior had a brace and Vincenz Rohrer added a single for Ottawa.

The 67s have now outscored the Generals 23-7 in the series and can advance to the conference semi-finals with a win at home – the Slush Puppie Centre across the river in Gatineau for one more night, anyway) on Saturday night.
