Oshawa Generals fans will need proof of vaccination to attend OHL games this year

All spectators, players, officials and anyone else wanting to get in to see an Ontario Hockey League game (OHL) at the Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa will need to be fully vaccinated as of October 7.
The OHL made the announcement Friday afternoon, with the date coinciding with the start of the 2021-22 season and the ruling applying to the home arenas of all 20 teams.
The mandate will apply to practices as well as games.
Children under the age of 12 will be required to be accompanied and supervised by a fully vaccinated adult and will be required to follow all safety protocols.
In other league news, the Oshawa Generals have signed second-overall pick Calum Ritchie to a standard player agreement.
One of five Oakville Rangers to be taken in the first round and captain of the team, Ritchie had 62 points in 32 games over the past two pandemic shortened seasons.
