A dominant three-goal second period lifted the Oshawa Generals to a 3-2 win over the visiting Hamilton Bulldogs Wednesday, a result that vaulted the club over the idle Sudbury Wolves into the final playoff spot in the East.

The Generals, who are 7-2-1 in their last ten games, used goals by Nikita Parfenyuk, Stuart Rolofs and Ryder McIntyre in the middle stanza to erase a 1-0 first period Hamilton lead.

Oshawa, sporting nifty white uniforms (designed by YourTeamYourJersey contest winner Emmett) that will be auctioned off in support of PC Children’s Charities, outshot Hamilton 42-32 in the game (including 21-8 in the opening frame) but had to survive a furious rally by the Bulldogs to earn the victory.

The Generals are now one point clear of Sudbury for the last playoff position (with 18 games to go) and just two points behind Kingston and three back of Hamilton.

The Generals are in action Friday in Ottawa for a stiff test against the league-leading 67s.
