Oshawa foot patrol officers find sawed-off shotgun during arrest

Foot patrol officers seized a sawed-off shotgun in Oshawa after arresting a suspect on an outstanding warrant Wednesday morning.

Central East Division officers were on foot patrol near Albany and Albert streets just south of downtown when they arrested Kenneth Dupont, 39, of no fixed address, on an outstanding warrant for violating his probation. During the arrest they discovered the shotgun as well as ammunition.

Dupont was charged with breach of probation and seven firearm-related offences. He was held for a bail hearing.
