Oshawa father charged with murder in November 2020 death of infant

A father has been charged in the November 2020 death of his infant son.

On November 21 of last year, a two-month-old baby was taken to hospital with brain injuries. The infant died sixteen days later.

The Homicide Unit investigated the incident and have now laid charges against the father.

Alvin Serrano, 22, of Oshawa, has been charged with Second Degree Murder and Assault Cause Bodily Harm. He was held for a bail hearing.

This death is now recorded as the ninth homicide investigated by Durham Police in 2020.
