An Oshawa-based custom home builder is up for a pair of honours for the 2023 Canadian Home Builders Association National Awards for Housing Excellence.

Trademark Homes, which has a trophy cabinet full of awards won in the past few years already, is a finalist for Best Detached Custom Home (2,501 to 3,000 sq. ft) for its ‘Swiss Heights’ project and Best Detached Custom Home (over 5,000 sq. ft) for ‘The View on Balsam.’

In the former category Trademark is up against Alloy Homes of Calgary and ‘Mountainview,’ Haynes Homes of Edmonton and ‘Black Russian,’ Okanagan Dream Builders of Kelowna and ‘The Fairways’ and WD Wedgewood Developments of Kamloops and ‘Mountain Modern.’

In the latter category Trademark’s competition is Halcyon Homes of London and ‘Minimalist Bliss’ and Park View Homes of North Gower, Ontario and ‘Luxurious Farm House.’

The awards are considered Canada’s top competition for new homes, home renovations, community development, and residential marketing.

Nearly 800 entries were submitted from across the country into 48 different categories designed to encompass the variety of homes built and renovated in Canada, at various sizes and price points, from single-family homes to mid/high-rises for both rental and ownership, and including specialty categories for Net Zero Homes and entry-level homes.

Trademark, a national finalist last year, was honoured in 2022 by Build Magazine for Best Luxury Home Builders and Renovators (Central Ontario) and Best High-End Waterfront Residential Development (Canada); and by Peterborough Kawartha Home Builders Association for Best Custom-Built Home (3,001 sq. ft to 4,000 sq. ft), Best Custom-Built Kitchen Design and Best Custom-Built Bathroom Design.

The company is a 21-time winner over the past seven years in design competitions held by the Durham Region Home Builders Association.
