A man suspected of robbing an Oshawa convenience store last night remains at large.

The suspect entered a convenience store on Taunton Rd. and Harmony Rd. a commercial area in the north end of the city, around 3 a.m. on Mar. 19.

He asked the clerk for a pack of cigarettes, according to Durham Regional Police. He grabbed the smokes when the clerk handed them over and fled the store. The man came back shortly afterwards and demanded more packs of smokes.

This time the clerk denied the suspect’s request. The suspect grew aggressive and threatened the clerk with violence, police claim. He then ran from the store again.

The clerk was unhurt in the exchange.

Police describe the suspect as a white man around 30 years old. He stands five-foot-ten and has a medium build.
