Residents of Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Halton Hills who want to learn more about local policing can sign up for the Citizen Police Academy.

Halton Regional Police’s Citizen Police Academy is accepting applications for their in-person, fall 2022 session.

The CPA is a free, ten-week program, where Halton residents have an opportunity to come in and learn about policing in their community. Attendees can expect to participate in sessions led by members of specialized units of the Halton police, including drugs, homicide, emergency services, and the training bureau.

The program runs three times a year; once in the winter, once in the spring, and once in the fall at police headquarters on Hwy. 25. Registration for each session is open a few weeks before the session is set to run and is announced on our social media platforms.

The fall 2022 sessions run Mondays from Sept. 12 to Nov. 21 (excluding Oct. 10) from 7 to 9 p.m.

To apply, you must be at least 18 years of age, work or reside in Halton region, pass a background security check and be able to attend all eight sessions

To register visit the Halton police website.
