OPP officer suffers minor injuries after cruiser is dragged by transport trailer on Niagara QEW

While details are still sparse, an OPP cruiser got trapped under a tractor-trailer and dragged along the QEW last night (January 26) in the Niagara Region.

The OPP Highway Safety Division reported the incident today, saying a “Niagara OPP officer travelling on the QEW- North Service Road” was dragged by the transport after the truck lost control “due to metal debris on the road.”

The officer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The section of the road was closed down while the accident got cleaned up and reopened at 7:30 am today.
