OPP charge tow truck driver who responded to Fort Erie accident with impaired

Niagara OPP confirmed this morning that the tow truck driver who showed up possibly intoxicated to the scene of an accident on the QEW near Gilmore Rd. in Fort Erie Friday night (September 23) has now been charged.

The OPP tweeted this morning (September 27) that the driver has been charged with Impaired Driving and having excess blood alcohol.

In fact, at the scene, the two truck driver blew four times over the legal blood alcohol concentration limit.

An image shared by police (below) shows a bag filled with empty beer cans in the backseat of the tow truck.

Another larger, flat-bed tow truck was called to the scene in order to take the first truck away as the driver’s impairment charge involves a 90-day license suspension and 7-day vehicle impoundment.
