Ontario will play host to Canadian wrestling championships this week

Ontario will soon play host to the best of Canada’s wrestling community, as the 2024 Canadian Wrestling Championships will be taking place in the province this week.

The tournament will focus on the senior, junior and cadet divisions within the Wrestling Canada Lutte — the governing body for Olympic-style wrestling in Canada — and will also host numerous athletes who have represented Canada on the international wrestling stage.

According to the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport, the event is built on the foundation of the Ontario Sport Hosting Program, a provincial incentive that encourages independent sporting organizations to engage with the province. 

These upcoming championships will showcase Canada’s most technically advanced athletes, with additional programming focusing on a Hall of Fame ceremony for Canadian Olympic wrestlers. 

The 2023 Canadian Wrestling Championships will take place this week in Ottawa from March 14 to March 17.
