Ontario SIU Invoke Mandate in Vehicle Collision Case in Mississauga

The Ontario Special Investigation Unit has invoked a mandate in regard to a case involving a collision of a vehicle and an unoccupied police vehicle in the area of Highway 401 near Highway 427 in Mississauga.
At approximately 4:30 am on Saturday, June 29, OPP officers had closed the westbound express lanes of the 401. A vehicle drove into the closure and collided with an unoccupied police vehicle.
The driver sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital.
As a result of the mandate invoked by the SIU, OPP officers can’t provide further information regarding the case.
