Kanthi Ambalavanar of Pickering won $50,000 in the Sept. 10 Keno draw

A Pickering retiree who has been playing the lottery for more than 20 years is $50,000 richer after a Daily Keno 9 win on the September 10 midday draw.

Kanthi Ambalavanar, a retiree, said he was at home when he decided to check my ticket. “I thought I won $50 at first!” he said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect his winnings.

The 74-year-old said he’s only shared the exciting news with his family so far.

As for his plans, Kanthi says he’s focused on taking care of family and saving for the future.

DAILY KENO players pick their strategy (from a 2 Pick to a 10 Pick) and pick their bet ($1, $2, $5 or $10) to pick their prize. Visit the DAILY KENO page on OLG.ca for more information.

The winning ticket was purchased at Ding Mart Convenience on Harwood Avenue South in Ajax.
