TORONTO — Ontario is reporting 4,026 are currently people in hospital with COVID-19, including 600 patients in intensive care units.

Hospitalizations are down slightly from the 4,114 reported Friday, while the number of people in the ICU has inched up from 590.

Ontario Health Minister Christine Elliott says 56 per cent of those in hospital were admitted for COVID-19, while 44 per cent were admitted for other reasons but have since tested positive for the virus.

The province also reported 47 new deaths related to COVID-19.

Ontario is reporting 6,473 new virus cases, though Public Health Ontario has said the number is likely higher because of a current policy restricting who can access tests.

Some 91.6 per cent of Ontarians twelve and over have one vaccine dose, and 88.9 per cent have two doses.
