Ontario reports 1,925 new cases of COVID-19, 58 in Halton

Ontario is reporting 1,925 new COVID-19 cases today (Dec. 7), 58 of which have been reported in the Halton Region.

Beginning on December 6, 2020, Halton Region Public Health announced they would be using an automated method for updating the number of active and resolved cases.

Cases will now be automatically classified as resolved if they are not currently hospitalized and are 10 days past their episode date and will also continue to be classified as resolved as soon as they have an outcome of ‘recovered’ in the Case and Contact Management System (CCM), Ontario’s central data repository for COVID-19.

Today (Dec. 7), Burlington has recorded 19 new cases while Oakville has 13.

Milton has recorded 24 new cases while Halton Hills has 2.

A total of 3,654 cases have been resolved in the Halton Region and 72 people have passed away.

There are currently 373 active cases in the region.

According to provincial data, 45,283 tests have been completed in Ontario in the last 24 hours.
