Ontario reporting 486 new COVID-19 cases, 83 in Mississauga and Brampton

The Region of Peel is reporting 83 new COVID-19 cases as of Tuesday (August 24).

Ontario is reporting 486 new cases on Tuesday, as well as 18 new deaths. With 17,369 tests completed, this brings the positivity rate to 2.8 per cent.

As of Tuesday, 91 additional hospitalizations were reported, bringing the total to 295, and five more were admitted to ICU, bringing the total to 156.

Of those who have been hospitalized, 116 are unvaccinated, while 13 received one dose, and 27 have received both.

Of those in the ICU, 67 are unvaccinated, while 10 have received one dose, and seven have received both.

Additionally, the Province is reporting another 36,655 vaccinations. As of Tuesday, 73 per cent of Ontarians have received at least one dose of a vaccine, including 84 per cent of adults, and 77 per cent of adults have been fully immunized.
