Ontario reporting 2,244 new COVID-19 cases, 329 people in ICU

Ontario is reporting 2,244 new COVID-19 cases today, Feb. 19 (down 93 from yesterday) and 14 more deaths, with the seven-day case average falling to 2,152.

There are 101 new cases in Durham, 101 in Niagara Region, 97 in Peel (Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon), 67 in Hamilton, and 58 in Halton.

1,191 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, of which 50% were admitted to the hospital for COVID-19 and 50% were admitted for other reasons but have tested positive for COVID-19, according to Health Minister Christine Elliott.

Of the 329 people in ICU with COVID-19, 79% were admitted to the ICU for COVID-19 and 21% were admitted for other reasons but have tested positive for COVID-19.

31,467,215 vaccine doses have been administered in Ontario to date, with 92.5% of Ontarians 12+ having received one dose and 90.3% having received two doses.
