Ottawa police say a 63-year-old man has been charged with murder in the disappearance of his wife earlier this year.

Police say Olga Konokhova, 64, was reported missing after last being in contact with someone in January.

They say her remains have not been located and an investigation into her disappearance is ongoing.

Police say her husband has now been charged with first-degree murder and was scheduled to appear in court Friday.

Investigators have not provided details on what led to the charge.

Police say they’re investigating the case as a femicide, and it’s the city’s sixth homicide of the year.
