Ontario man $100,000 richer after instant lottery win

Passing the time waiting for his ride home from work turned out to be a profitable 10 minutes for a Courtice man, who is now $100,000 richer after winning a top prize with Instant 3X Fortune.

Christopher Sadler, a server, was sitting at a pizza place killing time and playing his tickets “one by one” when he came across the winner.

“When I played this ticket and uncovered a top prize of $100,000, I started shaking. I was in total disbelief and thought to myself, ‘Is this really happening? This can’t be real!’”

Sadler, a regular lottery player with OLG for decades, said he enjoys trying new games, especially instant varieties. “I spotted this Instant 3X Fortune and the odds looked good,” he recalled while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. “I thought, ‘Why not give it a try?’”

He had just purchased his ticket about 10 minutes earlier, so he quickly ran back to the store where he’d bought it. “I shouted, ‘You guys won’t believe what just happened!’”

Eager to share the great news, Sadler called his best friend. “He knows I’m quite the jokester, so he thought I was kidding at first. When he heard the shakiness in my voice, he knew it was real and was so happy for me.”

With his winnings, Sadler plans to pay off bills, invest wisely and take a vacation to Halifax to visit his friend.

“I’m so beyond happy – I can’t even think straight! I just feel so thankful and blessed to have won this prize.”

Instant 3X Fortune is available for $5 a play and the top prize is $100,000.

The winning ticket was purchased at Circle K on King Street East in Oshawa.
