Steven Del Duca, leader of the Ontario Liberal Party, recently visited the Town of Milton to discuss affordable transit.

This past Saturday (May 14), Del Duca visited Main Street GO Station with Milton Councillor and local candidate, Sameera Ali.

Following his visit, Del Duca noted that Game 7, (Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Tampa Bay Lightning) which took place that day (May 14) was a “great reminder” of the number of people that use GO transit to travel.

If elected, Del Duca has promised to implement transit fares of $1 per ride across Ontario through a transit plan, called “buck-a-ride province-wide.”

“Tonight’s Game 7 is a great reminder of how many people use GO transit to travel across the region. With our @OntLiberal buck-a-ride, province-wide plan, someone going to Union Station from Milton would save $22.50 on a round trip,” wrote Del Duca on Twitter.

Ali also noted that more affordable transit would help the women’s workforce and local employment.
