The Ontario government recently announced that they will be bringing high-speed internet access to underserved homes and businesses in Milton and Burlington.

The Provincial government estimates that there are up to 430 underserved homes and businesses in Milton and 420 in Burlington.

Cogeco Connexion has signed an agreement with the province, following a two-stage process, to bring them high-speed internet access.

The province has signed agreements with a total of eight internet service providers in order to bring access to up to 266,000 homes and businesses in as many as 339 municipalities across the province.

This marks another milestone in the Ontario government’s plan to help connect every corner of the province by the end of 2025.

“Proud that our government is investing in homes and businesses in Milton and Burlington to bring high-speed internet to our communities,” said Parm Gill, Member of Provincial Parliament for Milton.

“We will continue to deliver on our commitment to improve access to reliable internet for every home and business in Ontario.”

Kinga Surma, Minister of Infrastructure said, “Our government is ensuring every community in Ontario has access to reliable high-speed internet.”

“We are making a positive difference in the lives of individuals and families in areas such as Milton and Burlington. Through our tremendous progress, more Ontarians will be able to have access to reliable high-speed internet no matter where they live.”

This announcement is part of the province’s investment of almost $4 billion to bring access to high-speed internet across Ontario.

This will help to ensure that everyone can participate in today’s economy.
