Ontario city hosting open house on multi-building high-rise project

A high-rise project in Pickering that hopes to bring more than 1,400 residents to four towers – each 35 storeys in height – will be in the public eye Wednesday when the city hosts a public open house at the Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex

Designed by BDP Quadrangle, the Biglieri Group project at 1095 Kingston Road will house 1,429 residents along the future Durham-Scarborough rapid transit line at the southwest corner of Kingston Road and Dixie Road and is just down the street from another high-side development at 705 Kingston Road that will have five towers and 1,748 new residents.

There are nearly half a dozen projects along the corridor either already under construction or being planned, with several boasting residential towers over 50 storeys in height.

The meeting on September 17 will take place in the recreation complex’s Banquet Hall (East Salon) between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., with city staff noting that it is not a ‘drop-in’ meeting and attendees must be there by 7 p.m. to provide in-person feedback on the project.
