Anyone out there a budding or established musician who’s looking for a spotlight?

Substitute spotlight for sunlight and the St. Catharines “Music in the Square” could be the musical ticket.

The St. Catharines Farmer’s Market, held in Market Square, is starting up its entertainment program again this season but musicians have to apply by March 7 for their shot to play in front of the crowd.

“It’s great to have this opportunity each year to showcase local talent and provide a public platform for them to highlight their remarkable skills,” said Deanna Chakarova, community and market coordinator.

“Visitors can expect some lively entertainment at the market and support local vendors at the same time.”

Musicians who have previously applied do not need to re-apply however they do need to contact organizers to discuss availability. Musicians interested can contact: http://stcatharines.ca/musicianapplication

Anyone interested in becoming a vendor at the market can apply for a market stall at: http://stcatharines.ca/vendorapplication anytime before March 14 to receive priority screening.

The Farmer’s Market is open on Thursdays from 8 am to 2 pm and Saturdays from 7 am to 1 pm Music in the Square runs at the market on Saturdays from 10:30 am to 1 pm from May 14 to October 15 this year.
