One man dead in Stoney Creek Hamilton

A 20-year-old Halton Hills man is facing robbery and other charges after an armed holdup in Brampton and two attempted robberies in Mississauga this past Friday.

Peel Regional Police say two people carried out the mini crime spree, which began at about 10:40 a.m. on Sept. 22 when a commercial business near Mavis Road and Britannia Road West in north Mississauga was targeted.

The robbery attempt failed, police say.

About 40 minutes later, police believe the same two people targeted a commercial business near Southdown Road and Royal Windsor Drive in the city’s southwest end.

That would-be heist was also unsuccessful, according to robbery investigators.

Then, a few minutes after 1 p.m., the same pair committed an armed robbery at a commercial business near Williams Parkway and Torbram Road in Brampton.

Police say a firearm was used in that incident.

Police subsequently arrested a suspect in Georgetown and located a replica handgun and other offence-related property.

Dasaun Norris, 20, of Halton Hills, is charged with robbery, attempt to commit an indictable offence (two counts), wear disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence and use imitation firearm.

He was held for a bail hearing and appeared in Brampton court.

The investigation is continuing.
