One person rescued from apartment fire in Mississauga

Crews are responding to a major fire in Mississauga today (Sept. 18).

The fire broke out on the tenth floor of an apartment building at 1980 Fowler Dr, near Erin Mills Parkway and the QEW, with heavy smoke at the scene.

Mississauga Fire reports that one person was rescued from the unit and has been transported to hospital with smoke inhalation.

A responding officer was also taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

“Fire is under control and smoke has cleared. Currently conducting air monitoring,” said Mississauga Fire.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
