A man is reportedly in police custody after a fire early this morning in the basement of a house in Mississauga.

Mississauga firefighters rushed to the home on Rocca Court just before 4 a.m., discovering dense smoke upon their arrival.

According to Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services, it was an aggressive interior attack, leading to the escalation of the incident to a two-alarm status.

The count of individuals inside the home during the fire remains uncertain. However, firefighting crews have verified that no injuries have been reported.

There are reports suggesting the apprehension of a man in connection to the incident, but Peel Regional Police have not officially confirmed that information or disclosed the individual’s identity or place of residence.
