One person injured in overnight shooting in Hamilton

Police are investigating an overnight Hamilton Mountain area shooting that left one person injured.

Shortly before 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, officers responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Upper James Street and Churchill Avenue.

One victim was found suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.

Two suspects were seen fleeing the area on foot. No further description of the suspects has been confirmed by police at this time.

“Police believe this to be a targeted incident and there is no further risk to public safety,” said police.

Residents and businesses in the area are asked to review their security cameras between the hours of 3:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. for any suspicious activity, and anyone driving in the area at that time is asked to check their dash cam footage.
