One person injured in Burlington house fire

Burlington fire damage blaze

An early morning fire on Saturday (Jan. 28) sent one person to hospital and caused extensive damage to a Burlington home.

According to the Burlington Fire Department, the fire broke out just after 2 a.m. at a home on Beckett Crt. in the Upper Middle Rd. and Walkers Line area.

When emergency crews arrived at the scene they were met with heavy smoke and flames coming from the structure.

According to the fire department, it took 19 firefighters six hours to extinguish the blaze.

The injured person was the only one in the house at the time. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

It is believed the fire started in the garage.

The estimated damage is $1 million.

The Fire Marshal is investigating.
