One person was sent to a trauma centre after a car went into a pond in Mississauga Monday night.
A call came in for “a car into the water at 3449 Arbourview Tr. with people trapped inside the vehicle,” Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services tweeted around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 22.
The person driving the vehicle escaped prior to the arrival of emergency services. As a precaution fire crews checked the submerged vehicle for other occupants.
The report of “people trapped inside” turned out to be false — there was only one person in the car and that person was out of the vehicle before crews arrived, a spokesperson for Mississauga Fire confirmed.
Peel Paramedics Services confirmed one person was transported to a trauma centre. That person’s condition is unknown at this time. Paramedics say there were no other people hurt.
