One person dead, two injured in serious collision in Lincoln

One person has been pronounced dead following a fatal vehicle collision in Jordan, Lincoln.

Around 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 3, the Lincoln Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services attended a serious collision in the area of Victoria Avenue and Spring Creek Road.

“Investigation revealed an 80 year old female was travelling westbound on Spring Creek Road when she continued into the intersection and was struck by a pickup truck being operated by a 50 year old male, southbound on Victoria Avenue,” said police.

The pickup truck then collided with a fully laden tractor trailer that was travelling northbound on Victoria, operated by a 22 year old male.

Police confirmed that the 50 year old male was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 80 year old woman was ejected from the vehicle and transported to an out-of-region hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the 22 year old male suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives with the Collision Reconstruction Unit are continuing to investigate this crash.
