One person dead in two-vehicle crash in Caledon on Labour Day long weekend

One person is dead and police are investigating after a crash in Caledon on the weekend.

The crash happened on Saturday just before 7:00 p.m. on Highway 10 at Old Base Line Road in Caledon, the OPP says.

Emergency crews arrived on the scene to find two vehicles had collided. One of the drivers, a 24-year-old from Caledon, was pronounced dead at the scene while two other victims were rushed to hospital in non-life threatening condition.

Police did not disclose the name of the deceased or any additional details about the victims.

Highway 10 between Charleston Sideroad and King Street was closed for several hours while the members of the OPP collision reconstructionists assisted with the investigation.

The crash is still under investigation and police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage of the incident to contact Caledon OPP at 905-584-2241 or 1-888-310-1122.
