One Person Dead in Mississauga Fire

One person is dead and the Ontario Fire Marshal’s office has been called in to investigate a fatal fire in Mississauga.

“A deceased party was located inside the residence after the fire was extinguished,” said Peel Regional Police Const. Bancroft Wright on Thursday morning.

Emergency crews were sent to the city’s south end at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday for a residential fire at Lakeshore Rd. W. and Lorne Park Rd.

First responders were unable to determine gender but confirm there was only one victim.

Emergency crews remain on scene.

The cause is under investigation.
