One person dead in crash, multiple road closures in Brampton and Caledon

One person has died in one of two crashes this morning in the Caledon area, one at the Brampton border.

A three-vehicle crash involving two tractor trailers and a passenger vehicle claimed the life of a man this morning (Oct. 20) in the area of Goreway Drive and Mayfield Road, according to news reports.

One driver was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency crews responded around 5 a.m., OPP said. Reportedly, one of the transport truck drivers was sent to hospital.

And Caledon OPP said they responded to two separate and serious collisions this morning.

Mayfield Road between Dixie Road and McVean Drive was closed this morning.

And Old School Road between Bramaea Road and Dixie Road was also closed.

The incidents are unrelated, police said.

Update: Police re-opened the roads in the afternoon.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage is asked to contact Caledon OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
