One person airlifted to hospital after a collision north of Caledon, road closes

A man was airlifted to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries after a crash north of Caledon.

The person was rushed to hospital after a serious, single-vehicle crash in the Town of Mono just before 10:30 a.m. on Sunday (Oct. 23), OPP say.

The crash happened on Airport Road between Hockley Road and 15th Sideroad, police say.

The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he was then air-lifted by Ornge to a trauma centre, police say.

The OPP Traffic Collision Investigation are investigating and Airport Road between Hockley Road and 15th Sideroad will remain closed for several hours.
