One pedestrian dead, one in hospital after being hit by motorcyclist in Hamilton

A serious collision in Hamilton has fatally injured one person and critically injured another.

A serious collision in Hamilton has fatally injured one person and critically injured another.

The incident happened shortly after 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 28 in the area of Mohawk Road East, just east of Upper Gage Avenue.

“A 68-year-old Hamilton man and a 89-year-old Hamilton woman were attempting to cross the road from the south sidewalk when they were struck by a 54-year-old motorcycle driver Hamilton man operating a 2003 Harley Davidson that was travelling eastbound,” police say.

Both pedestrians were taken to hospital, where the 68 year old man was pronounced dead. The 89 year old woman sustained life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition.

The motorcyclist was also seriously injured and is being treated.

Hamilton Police’s Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing to investigate.
