Even legends don’t live forever, as a popular burger joint in Mississauga has officially said its last “orders up,” on Friday, March 31, 2023.

It seems like just yesterday when Burger Legend, located on 236 Queen St S in Streetsville, was open for business.

Established in April 2014— during the smash burger craze, this restaurant used the freshest halal ingredients delivered daily to create its legendary menu items.

The beef was ground fresh every day and the cheese was real Canadian cheddar — none of the processed stuff.

The restaurants signature burger called “The Great One” was topped with maple smoked bacon, Canadian cheddar cheese, mixed greens, tomatoes and a special sauce called “Bawss Sauce” which the recipe for remains a secret to this day.

The order also came with homestyle fries which were double fried in peanut oil and topped with sea salt.

Burger Legend mentioned in a recent Instagram post the details of their Streetsville location closure and what their hopes are for the businesses future.

“Burger Legend has finally completed it’s transition to a larger location at 1086 Islington Ave in Etobicoke, ” the message said.

The restaurant will continue to serve their popular burgers alongside sandwiches, and poutines from the Etobicoke storefront.

Burger Legend ended the statement with, “We hope to open new locations soon. We would like to thank our customers and the community in Streetsville for their continued support over the years.”

A Reddit thread about the closure has garnered several comments from users, some expressing their disappointment in the news.

“Well Burger legend is closed. Too bad I liked their burgers,” wrote one user about the closure of the business.

While another comment mentioned how visiting Burger Legend was a Friday night ritual for their family.

If you are still in the mood to try Burger Legend the nearest location is on Advance Rd and Islington in Etobicoke.
