One man arrested, three sought following bat attack on Brampton street

One man has been arrested and police are seeking three others following an attack on a vehicle in Brampton on Sunday.

In the late afternoon of June 20, four men, all aged between 23 and 25, were in a vehicle that was being followed by another vehicle.

The four victims stopped their vehicle and got out in the area of Elwin Rd. and Elbern Markell Dr. before four suspects exited the second vehicle allegedly carrying a variety of baseball and cricket bats with which they damaged the victim’s vehicle.

Investigators from 22 Division made an arrest on Monday.

Inderjit Dhami, a 34-year-old man from Brampton, was charged with possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, mischief over $5000, and four counts of uttering a threat to cause death or bodily harm.

Police are continuing to investigate and are looking for three additional male suspects, all believed to be South Asian.

Investigators are appealing to community members to come forward with any information. Anyone who may have witnessed this incident and has video surveillance or dashcam footage is asked to contact the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau at 905-453-2121, ext. 2233.
