One person seriously injured, four flee the scene following crash in Brampton

A driver with serious injuries is in hospital while four individuals attempted to flee the scene following an overnight collision in Brampton.

Early Sunday morning, at about 1:15 a.m., Peel Regional Police responded to a two-vehicle crash near Bramalea Road and Clark Boulevard.

Police say the driver of one of the vehicles suffered serious injuries and was taken to a trauma centre.

According to investigators, four people attempted to flee the scene on foot, but were later located and taken into custody.

As of 9:30 a.m., police have closed off Clark Boulevard, from Kings Cross to Edenborough Drive, as well as Bramalea Road, from Balmoral Drive to Knightsbridge Road.

Drivers are asked to seek alternate routes for the time being.
