One dead in double shooting by Lake Ontario in Mississauga

A man has died following a shooting in Mississauga tonight (June 21).
Another person, a woman, was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds.
Peel police say they are not looking for an active shooter and there is no threat to the public as the incident appears to be isolated to those directly involved.
The incident unfolded around 8:30 p.m. on Oakwood Ave. S. in Port Credit where Peel Police responded to a report of a double shooting.
Police have since confirmed the man was found near Lake Ontario and pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman is in hospital and listed in stable condition.
The Homicide Bureau has been deployed to handle the situation, and their investigation is currently underway.
Police will continue to be in the area overnight, to ensure the safety of residents.
