One dead, four injured in crash at Hamilton Airport

An overnight collision in Hamilton on Saturday (Apr. 23) has killed one person and injured several more.

Shortly after 2:15 a.m., emergency services were called to the John C. Munro Airport for a single motor vehicle collision.

Five people were transported to area hospitals.

“The driver, a 52-year-old Hamilton male, was pronounced a short time later. The four passengers suffered minor injuries,” said police.

The cause of the crash has not been confirmed yet, with Hamilton police’s Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Federal Ministry of Labour continuing to investigate.

Police say operations at the airport were not affected.
