One dead following downtown Mississauga stabbing

A woman has died, and a man is in hospital after they were stabbed in a daylight attack in downtown Mississauga.

Peel Regional Police responded to reports of two people injured in a stabbing at Britannia Rd and Mavis Rd, a busy commercial centre, at 6 p.m.

A woman suffering stab wound was pronounced dead on scene. A man suffered injuries as well, the extent of which remain unknown.

Police report they have one man in custody who they have transported to hospital. They made the attack public less than an hour after it occured.
